Psychofancy or Reality?

"How beautiful the waves of a sea are! Sometimes they are calm and sometimes they are harsh. Do you know that the waves of the sea are formed due to the forces of the moon!"

Huh!! Same old science lesson. But still clinged to the same channel. It was the anchor who made me stick to it. She was good looking and attractive. Well! Thats not the point here. The next
sentences from her cute pink lips left me speechless.

"When a small moon could influence the sea dont you think the '9' planets could influence the psyche of a human?"

Twists and twirls in my mind. Its a programme on "ASTROLOGY" and the coloured stone rings. The first words which ran in my mind are "Is she out of her brains?". Is that a scientific explanation for astrology or is it a new way of luring people towards it? Well well...im not a judge here.

But how many of us believe in it?
Some say its interesting, some say its happening and some call it baseless predictions. Diverse opinions. That day i was strongly influenced by my friend when he told about the tales of his future foreteller brother. I couldnt believe it, he was so accurate in predicting my friend's future. Accurate!!! Did i call accurate?...Probably thats the word that describes it coz he accurately told what has happened in my friend's past. And on that day i was swallowed in it and was left in pure awe when his brother presented his past events along with an almost accurate timeline. For an atheist like me this incident came as a surprise. My thoughts dwelled a bit deeper searching for the source of this paranormal study. So deep, it made me ask myself "Does it have anything to do with the existence of god?". For few moments my thoughts relayed back and forth. An atheist talking about the existence of god!!! Silly isnt it? But it dragged me that far...

I started recollecting all what i heard in the past. Those things made me think now. I heard about an IAS officer talkin abt god and that he had seen god in a famous temple. He published a book on it too. Well i have my own experience too. I dint see god though but met a man who foretold my future. He said im either gonna become a "computer engineer or an IAS officer". I had nothing to speak, it came to me as a surprise. I graduated in computer science and was preparing for the civil services examination. How did he have any hint on that? Believers may call it the power of astrology or planets or stars whatever it is and Non-believers may call it a logical thinking. I heard both the views. Practically speaking the logic of non-believers is not ignorable. To make it believe even believers started pouring scientific explanations for the existence of gods. An infamous story revolves round in anthropology about Ramayan. The process of evolution was given as the explanation. That Rama was a fully evolved human being and Hanuman was not yet fully evolved and he is still in the process of evolution.... Believable??? As a student of anthropology the explanation is very scientific to me...But as early as 10000yrs all humans were fully evolved homo sapiens and ramayan is not more than 10000yrs old.

And there were these subtle energy arts: Chi, Reiki, Chi Gung, Prana etc. They say they make use of one of nature's beautiful forces, the earth's magnetic field. I never thought man could ever interact personally with the forces of nature. Well, why not? We cannot judge anything until we experience it or until we see these predictions really happening.

I see people spending a lot and giving a lot of importance to these predictions though i dont call them completely baseless. I see them reading books tryin to learn more, tryin to consult these foretellers again and again and wanna know even the minute of things. They also say the future keeps changing, so what does it depend upon? The answer is your own mind but people hardly agree to this. No offending anybody here. Believers believe and non-believers dont believe. Where do i make my stand? I say all this is interesting. For the first time ever i talked abt 'stars' with my friend and her reaction was "Puppy talking abt stars!!". I never expected myself to talk abt these kinda things. Wondered what made me mutter about it. So seeking clarity i beleive i stand nowhere in the believers flock and nowhere in the non-believers flock. Let the future come. Lets decide it then.

A prominent future-teller once told me this "if we know our future, the one thing we could do is...change it". Never expected someone of that stature to talk in such an obsolescent way. But his message was clear.

'The future is in our hands, The future is ours, Its just a simple mind game.'

only reason i listen to anything astrologers say, is to prove them wrong. and there are many instances of that happening.

I believe both psychofancy and reality are true.Think practically the science is true. So, simply if anything that gives us results in a manner which we predicted earlier is true.In that way astrology in any form that is predictable is true.It is the general tendency of the people including u and me trying to know what is the future.it is that interest which drags us into this, saying whether the predictability of this so said science is true or not.
U know people are divided in believing is there any life form in the universe as in the earth.but they are in search of that life form irrespective of their belief.everything what we see with the naked eye is not real and which we can't see is not false.we people often forget how the life started on the earth.ofcourse there may not be perfect answers but we listen to a lot of theories.even then we dont find answers b'coz we believe things only if there is any proof. And that is the point from where the greatness of the human being takes birth. He searches for the truth and finds it. The only thing which helps him in each and every step is his conscience.
one reason for seeing the astrology not as a science is anything we seee today we see it in combination with the religion whether it is hindu muslim or christian whatever it may be we see them as the product of a religion.even the science of the ancient times..one example is sanskrit, through which we are still able to understand a lot of ancient scripts which are marked as a product of hinduism.by this time u must have understood what i am saying .i believe in astrology u can also believe in astrology if u forget astrology has nothing to do with religion since u treat urself as an athiest.
its a science and science never questions ur belief in religion nor it.its for mankind thats all and its importance ends there.u see science is something which we cant see but proofs are available and god is someone both may not be seen .believing in the former statement i say that god is nothing but science and science is nothing but god.i prove it as
:both are for mankind.
:science cannot be seen but only its results can be seen in the same way if we believ that god cannot be seen but his creation in the form form of life on the earth as a result can be seen
:we can't say this is science precisely b'coz science is formless in the same way god is also formlesss

so god and science has nothing to do with religion .and finally u are not an athiest and u are thiest since u believe iin science which implies u believe in god from the above analysis according to me.
hence both have nothing to do with religion .And can anything be said as a product of religion which doesn't talk of religion??.. u can never see in astrology any religion.it is totally neutral.
so pup on these matters take any one path and dont try to be diplomatic.if u are diplomatic on these isues it is just a disresectful behaviour towards ancient scinece and the knowledgeable indians who existed in the past.
and one thing i can't understand is people including me say that they doesn't believe until they experience.i am questioning most of the people are in love one day or the other what is that experience they experienced made them to believe that they are in love with someone.

@Sundeep: Very interesting. Never saw a person acclaiming that

"god is nothing but science and science is nothing but god"

Bang on buddy. U r on top of it. Yeah i agree there are many things for which no proof exist but still call them science like the big bang theory. But that doesnt mean that all which doesnt have proof are created by god! and all science is god!

Mayb u r talkin on the basis of a small chunk of science which unfortunately didnt have a solid proof but what abt the rest? I believe god is just a belief, faith and fear but more than 90% of science is more practical than just belief.

And we dont essentially need to experience something to know about it. We may also learn from the experience of others. your dad might have taught u a lot of things and so did ur mom. its called acquired wisdom. Now u r questioning love. history spoke a lot about love,so many scripts and few monuments too. Dont u think its a disrespect to all those "knowledgable indians" or whoever talked abt love on their experience?

I didnt understand from where did religion come from! Mayb the word atheist sparked u. Atheism doesnt speak abt any religion it speaks only of god. its not that one is atheist in hinduism and theist in christianity. atheism is the belief of non-existence of god. it doesnt pertain to any religion. mayb u thot i was confused between astrology and religion.religion was never in my mind.

Psycho fancy or Reality
hehehe interesting topic

u knw wat i love life for its unpredictability......so i dont want anyone predicting future there is no sense in it...........the joy in living is by experiencing the present not by predicting future.

lemme keep it simple........and although i did Engg im not a science guy...........so i ill explain my point of view through business

I like Share markets, i like it just for its unpredictability.........now here is a scenario i knw astrology and i now knw the future and i made a fortune through that. Now when i think back what is that i liked in markets its unpredictability and i no more have that fun, is that fortune gonna substitute for that, trust me "never".

If you know the result of any game there is no fun in playing that game.

I am from a school of thought where people believe in process of doing something, than actual results. We actually enjoy the process than the result.

Finally i conclude saying there is no better game than life in this world, we shuld respect it not predict.

Montoyaa signing off.

i waited long enof for ur comment monto...as always its interestin...

"believe in process of doing something, than actual results"

real good one this...i liked it wen u said we shud play the game of life than predicting it ;)

would u mind sayin somethn on vijay sundeep's comment too!?

Montoyaa said...

Well first of all gud to see some one appreciating my comments thats not the case usually.

About my comments on Vijay Sundeep reactions, sure mate here i go

@Vijay Sandeep no offenses dude these are just my thoughts .

well i have weired opinions so u shuldnt bother abt my opinions really.

finally u are not an atheist and u are theist

ohh i have completely different view on this, believing in GOD or not believing in GOD. I can never come in this debate becoz i have never seen this world in those two angles. Honestly i can never come up to a conclusion whether i believe in GOD or i dont.

one reason for seeing the astrology not as a science is anything we see today we see it in combination with the religion whether it is hindu muslim or christian whatever it may be we see them as the product of a religion

About religion, i believe religion or caste just say abt the habits of a person and nothing more. I really believe me being a muslim or a christian or a buddist would have changed anything but my daily habits.

Again not in science terms, let me go through maths this time.
religion has never been a variable in equation of my life, its just a constant which changes my path for solution. A Constant which never influenced the answer but just the path for it.

sanskrit, through which we are still able to understand a lot of ancient scripts which are marked as a product of hinduism

Well mate who is dat who labeled Sanskrit as Hinduism, just dont give a damn to it.

if u are diplomatic on these isues it is just a disresectful behaviour towards ancient scinece and the knowledgeable indians who existed in the past.

Diplomacy is an after thought for me when i think about psycho fancy or Reality. I just do not want anyone to predict future in the first place. Every creature on this earth is as knowledgeable as Indians are thats pure nature dude.

Now finally about Love and experience of it. I am the last person here to comment on this. hehehehe ;)

Cheers mate,
Montoyaa

thanx for ur comments dude...

i hope i write more posts on controversial topics...;)

"if we know our future, the one thing we could do is...change it"
If its changed, then it's not 'the future that we saw'. so the future wasn't predicted actually.

can future be predicted? ofcourse a path can be laid to the future that we dream of, based on the past and the present.

the past has the reasons for its happening so is the same with the future. what matters is whether one is careful or careless. that is all life(the past, the present and the future) about.

some ppl are so curious that they want to know the future. some WANT to change it too(they forget that it wasn't the future if its changed). some belive in the forecasting and they work hard for its happening(for good or bad... they don't want see their belief broken into pieces). some other wants to alter their future to alter the forecasting. and some wants to accept life as it is(what else can be done other than this?).

very good post actually. neverever thought that you would touch such controversial topics. that you waver between the two sides of a coin.

nice post.
