We "maintain the discrimination"(not specifically racial) to every stranger.Stranger here i mean ecxepting family,closest frnds n the people belonging to our CASTE.After watching Shilpa cry and so much care we gave for her i realised y r we not same Indians when it came to the millions of people who cry in their homes almost everyday because they've been discriminated on the basis of caste or class or watever shit.
Everybody discriminates evrybody if he/she doesnt belong to their own caste,class or community.Hindus discriminate muslims,jains discriminate buddists,the so-called upper caste people discriminate the so-called lower caste people of SCs,STs,BCs and dalits.Vice-Versa.High-class people descriminate middle- and low-class people and vice-versa.Indians have become hyper-ethocentric and xenophobic.Rather CASTO-CENTRIC and CLASSO-CENTRIC.The whole dimension of division of people on the basis of caste has been changed since it has started.Now the word caste in India mean discrimination.The word reminds us of discrimination n nothin else.
The caste point is from a broader perspective.Forget all the dimensions and walk into our daily lives.We talk about love,care,help,sympathy n all but do we really do wat we say?
Absolutely not.How many of us have had evil eyes to a beggar who left his self-respect on the side of the road n stretched his arms for a penny? 90% of us wud have done that.Is he/she not a human just lik u n me.Well if u think his dejected social status is the only reason for that then damn u dont dare speak about love,care n all things which are insensible to u.I heard people saying "chi po" (get off!) and "vadni chudu adukkunevadu jeans veskunnadu" (look at him,being a beggar he wore a jean pant) and many more....Y a beggar shud not prosper?? Y do u not feel happy to see that the beggar is developing n prospering.Learn to treat people lik people n not lik animals.Beggars r the most common ground where we show wat we really r.From beggars to our collegues at work to our neighbours with whom we live we show discrimination.If you ask me who we(Indians) really are i wud say we r the most racist people on earth.We racially discriminate each n every person.
We call ourselves a united billion with multiethnicity,multilingual n multireligious groups.But how united r we truly?? The next time u call united india just think again.We r united certainly only wen other countries talk bad abt us n we all r fevicol-united during India-Pakistan cricket matches.Every Indian does the same thing to their fellow Indians wat Jade Goody has done to Shilpa Shetty no doubt abt that.The only one who does the perfect thing is an ideal person and no person in this world is ideal.IDEALISM IS MYTH.But 1 thing is for sure.We can bend towards idealism to a great extent.Lets try to be human n more humane and live up to the phrase of "United India".

but then again,humans by nature ,discriminate :). we group similar things,we divide dissimilar things. you dont even realise that you are doing that. if it ends there then we would be a much more intelligent society:D.
kani edavadi, akkaditho aage vadendukuntadu ;). most of us hate something that is not similar to us, and hence the misunderstandings..
dont look for black and white (as in right and wrong),look for the grey area!!

p.s. shilpa shetty herself was being a disgrace to india,no one mentioned that :D.she was being a..well never mind!!

Come to think of it its in the nature of the man to discriminate, if not about caste then its about colour, if its not about that then its about creed and if not about these highly discussed issues it's about mundane ones as one's choice. How many times have we Puppy dismissed people as geeks, items, piddi thali ani and all that. The sense of induviduality which one maitains forms the root for all categorisation. And the ugly manifestion of this categorisation is branding a group of people as a group inferior to us. Ill tell you this as long as the mankind exists there will be this type of branding going on.
hey ash...wen we kno we r doin a mistake y still continue with dat...manam chala mandini ala teesi padesam oppukunta...if we dont do errors we r not humans at all...n i also agree we cant remove this discrimination prob completely...we r born inheriting this quality of discrimination...if evrything is perfect we wudnt hav been talkin abt wat is called as heaven n god n all...but wat my intention is...we r kids no more n atleast u n me try not to b lik that from now on n b close to wat we believe the characteristics of the mythological idealism...i kno its not dat easy to say this to all the 1.3 billion indians...but atleast we do wat is gud from our part as we r accountable to our country...

hey... good blog pup... but some positives some negetives... true abt discrimination what we indians show within ourselves... but we are not so worse... only problem with us is we reflect what happens to us... a person who shows discrimination is definitely a victim of discrimination n so the chain continues .. but the heart of indians and teh feelings within are the most pure ... at least more pure than any other culture in the world.. we have it within us... but we need to realise... we r united but we need to be provoked.. only then do the feelings burst out... situations like a cricket match or a discrimination from a foreign country does dat... so wat u said abt how we indians behave and live is very true to a large extent but this is not true india... we are much betetr than what we show up... and we definitely should show up our better side to make a beautiful INDIA ....
good insight into the 'casteist' Indian. idealism is always a myth! the hue and cry raised when shilpa shetty was commented was largely due to media intervention and not to forget the 'ideal' indians cutting across political parties trying to save 'India'. even after this, common man suffers
