Psychofancy or Reality?

"How beautiful the waves of a sea are! Sometimes they are calm and sometimes they are harsh. Do you know that the waves of the sea are formed due to the forces of the moon!"

Huh!! Same old science lesson. But still clinged to the same channel. It was the anchor who made me stick to it. She was good looking and attractive. Well! Thats not the point here. The next
sentences from her cute pink lips left me speechless.

"When a small moon could influence the sea dont you think the '9' planets could influence the psyche of a human?"

Twists and twirls in my mind. Its a programme on "ASTROLOGY" and the coloured stone rings. The first words which ran in my mind are "Is she out of her brains?". Is that a scientific explanation for astrology or is it a new way of luring people towards it? Well well...im not a judge here.

But how many of us believe in it?
Some say its interesting, some say its happening and some call it baseless predictions. Diverse opinions. That day i was strongly influenced by my friend when he told about the tales of his future foreteller brother. I couldnt believe it, he was so accurate in predicting my friend's future. Accurate!!! Did i call accurate?...Probably thats the word that describes it coz he accurately told what has happened in my friend's past. And on that day i was swallowed in it and was left in pure awe when his brother presented his past events along with an almost accurate timeline. For an atheist like me this incident came as a surprise. My thoughts dwelled a bit deeper searching for the source of this paranormal study. So deep, it made me ask myself "Does it have anything to do with the existence of god?". For few moments my thoughts relayed back and forth. An atheist talking about the existence of god!!! Silly isnt it? But it dragged me that far...

I started recollecting all what i heard in the past. Those things made me think now. I heard about an IAS officer talkin abt god and that he had seen god in a famous temple. He published a book on it too. Well i have my own experience too. I dint see god though but met a man who foretold my future. He said im either gonna become a "computer engineer or an IAS officer". I had nothing to speak, it came to me as a surprise. I graduated in computer science and was preparing for the civil services examination. How did he have any hint on that? Believers may call it the power of astrology or planets or stars whatever it is and Non-believers may call it a logical thinking. I heard both the views. Practically speaking the logic of non-believers is not ignorable. To make it believe even believers started pouring scientific explanations for the existence of gods. An infamous story revolves round in anthropology about Ramayan. The process of evolution was given as the explanation. That Rama was a fully evolved human being and Hanuman was not yet fully evolved and he is still in the process of evolution.... Believable??? As a student of anthropology the explanation is very scientific to me...But as early as 10000yrs all humans were fully evolved homo sapiens and ramayan is not more than 10000yrs old.

And there were these subtle energy arts: Chi, Reiki, Chi Gung, Prana etc. They say they make use of one of nature's beautiful forces, the earth's magnetic field. I never thought man could ever interact personally with the forces of nature. Well, why not? We cannot judge anything until we experience it or until we see these predictions really happening.

I see people spending a lot and giving a lot of importance to these predictions though i dont call them completely baseless. I see them reading books tryin to learn more, tryin to consult these foretellers again and again and wanna know even the minute of things. They also say the future keeps changing, so what does it depend upon? The answer is your own mind but people hardly agree to this. No offending anybody here. Believers believe and non-believers dont believe. Where do i make my stand? I say all this is interesting. For the first time ever i talked abt 'stars' with my friend and her reaction was "Puppy talking abt stars!!". I never expected myself to talk abt these kinda things. Wondered what made me mutter about it. So seeking clarity i beleive i stand nowhere in the believers flock and nowhere in the non-believers flock. Let the future come. Lets decide it then.

A prominent future-teller once told me this "if we know our future, the one thing we could do is...change it". Never expected someone of that stature to talk in such an obsolescent way. But his message was clear.

'The future is in our hands, The future is ours, Its just a simple mind game.'
